With a deep love for God and music in his heart, Peter has always found purpose in creating music with others. From the musical opportunities provided by school and church to various community choirs over the years, a serendipitous moment led Peter to discover the ABC’s 2023 ‘Compass’ profile on Tony Backhouse and the existence of a gospel choir in Sydney. Encouraged by his sister-in-law, who knew Tony personally, Peter auditioned in early 2024 - and was overjoyed to find the spiritual and musical outlet his soul had longed for. Surrounded by like-minded individuals who share his passion for “making a joyful noise” and spreading goodness, Peter finally found his place. “Gospel music is just so rich—not only in meaning but also in soul, groove, and heavenly harmonies that are impossible to resist!
